Healing Naturally: A Partial Placenta Previa Success Story

When you're pregnant, the last thing you want is added stress—especially when you're told something unexpected about your baby's birth plan. One of our patients came to us at 30 weeks pregnant, recently diagnosed with partial placenta previa. Her OBGYN had explained that if the placenta didn’t move up within the next four weeks, she would need to deliver via C-section.She was understandably worried. Like many mothers, she deeply hoped for a natural vaginal birth and was willing to try anything to avoid surgery—safely. That’s when she turned to acupuncture. We created a personalized treatment plan for her, focusing on increasing blood flow, supporting the uterus, and encouraging the natural shifting of the placenta. She committed fully to the process, coming in twice a week for a total of 8 sessions. On September 3rd, 2020, we received the exciting update: her OBGYN officially cleared her for a vaginal delivery. The placenta had completely moved away from the cervix—no C-section necessary.
